Abusers act on the fact that no-one around them know what they really are...many thinking they fool everyone around them and no-one realizes that they are abusing their significant other. Getting it out there is a risk...this could enrage an abuser to act more against their prey...yet other times it does help prevent further actions.
This is up to the victim...this is something the victim needs to weigh and decide how their abuser may act and what they are willing to do to attempt to stay safe.
The most important part of any of this is for the Victim to stay safe!
